"Lord, I Lift My Hands To You"
Laura Wilkins Cranford
In the early 1960's, Laura Wilkins Cranford began her dance training in Richmond, Virginia under the direction of ballet mistress Eleanor Fry. At the conclusion of intermediate studies, Laura completed advanced training with the Richmond Ballet, the State Ballet of Virginia. Deep immersion in the ballet genre created a solid foundation for exploration into liturgical dance. Laura's formal liturgical dance training was under the direction of "Son Dance," Raleigh, North Carolina. In the late 1990's, she became associated with Patricia W. Ward, director of Moving Voices Inc. This collaboration allows Laura not only to perform Duncan repertoire, but also to share her liturgical dance expertise via original choreography and performance.
